Hi Kiran

Shoji san is correct - usually Japanese (or any other non-ASCII characters) characters should only be used in encoded text fields.

Having said that I have already seen in the past some firms using Japanese characters in tag 58 and Appia does have a workaround to allow Japanese characters to tag 58 if you really have to do it.

I believe NYFIX support team is already working on this case with you, but should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best Regards

Hi All,
Please let us know
Can we send Japaneese Characters in tag 58?
Can FIX protocol(any version) carry the Japaneese characters from buy side to sell side? We have tried to send some Japaneese characters in tag 58, but Appia FIX engine has converted these characters into junk characters.
